Three Sixty's Security Services celebrates one year anniversary

Stockport Homes CCTV

Without CCTV, it can feel like crime happens in a vacuum. The Security Services team operated by Three Sixty, a part of Stockport Homes Group, provides monitoring of 116 public space CCTV cameras across Stockport Metropolitan Borough. Security Services monitors cameras on behalf of Stockport Homes, keeping the Group’s tenants and colleagues safe every day. They also work collaboratively with Greater Manchester Police (GMP) to prevent and detect crime and keep the public safe.

It’s been a year of action in the department from the very beginning. On the first day operating, the team utilised the CCTV cameras across the Borough to assist GMP in following a thief from the town centre to his place of residence, where he was arrested. In fact, at the time of writing, the team have assisted in 306 arrests and some 4,143 incidents in the last year.

The CCTV operators deal with a wide range of incidents, including helping with searches for missing persons, monitoring assault cases and providing support for shoplifting incidents in Stockport town centre. In addition, the team serves as Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council’s out-of-hours security provider.

The Security Services team also has mobile security officers who patrol the Borough, responding to alarms and incidents 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, in all weathers. They have been on the scene to help members of the public in emergencies including road traffic accidents, administering first aid until ambulances arrived. Similarly, the team is also comprised of civic guards who assist at public buildings around the Borough.
